***Snake Bite Alert***

Unfortunately, we are seeing numerous animals bitten by snakes lately. Luckily, most snakes are not deadly, and patients will only need symptomatic treatment.
The most common ones in this group are Night Adders and Stiletto snakes.
The most common deadly snake in our area on the coast are the black and green mambas. They need prompt treatment to have a chance of survival. We do keep antivenom in our four branches. This antivenom covers the two mamba species, puffadder and cobra.
Birds often alert us to the presence of snakes. If they do, please keep the dogs away from the area.
In the event of a snake bite, please contact your local veterinary hospital.
